I thought it would be fun to create a company to use in examples, training videos, and to use instead of real client information when answering questions. Since I am serving birthing centers and midwives along with other natural and complementary healthcare businesses, I chose to create a birthing center for my imaginary business.

So now you know why I created a business - but why in the world would I name it "Push 'em Out"?

Well, the answer lies in a very old Cosby show episode (which I unfortunately could not find on YouTube) where Dr. Huxtable's advice to the husband of a laboring woman is to tell her to "Push 'em out, shove 'em out, waaaaay out!" My husband and I watched this particular episode when I was pregnant, and he jokingly told me that he was going to coach me like that when I went into labor! I told him I'd probably punch him in the face if he did!

My dear husband has made fun of me since then for moo-ing like a cow while in labor - which I agree I did do, but it really did help!

Anyway, that is the story behind my tongue-in-cheek birthing center "company".

While searching for the Cosby Show episode mentioned above, I did find a snippet of a Friends episode that is basically the same thing. Enjoy - but don't actually say these words to a laboring woman if you value your life!
